Considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, Wéris has enjoyed an action-packed history. This charming little village in the Durbuy district boasts a fascinating prehistorical site with a megalithic field more than 8 kilometres long. Here menhirs and dolmens over 5,000 years old form an alignment that is unique to Belgium. Information on the civilisation that built the dolmens are available to walkers at the Museum of the Megaliths. A trail also takes them to places where the legends of the Pas-Bayard (Bayard pass), of the Pierre Haina (Haina stone) and the Lit du Diable (Devil's Bed) originated. From Easter to All Saints' Day, the Exhibition Centre proposes each year a new temporary exhibition.
Closed on 1/1, 1/11 and 25/12.
Guided tours every day, for groups (max. 20 pers.) on request (museum and/or walk).
Audiovisual screening on the Neolithic.
Access: E411, then N4 up to Marche, then N86 up to Barvaux, then N841 up to Wéris.
