If you love Belgian chocolate don't forget to visit the Cocoa and Chocolate museum
This unique museum, just a stone's throw away from the Grand-Place, will transport you to the world of chocolate and show you its journey from the humble cocoa bean to the finished product.
Learn about the history of chocolate: from Xocoatl, a spiced drink that the Mayans were very fond of, to the hot chocolate drinks that were enjoyed by the French courts.
Learn, through posters, videos, photos and a series of explanatory panels, how cocoa is grown and transformed into chocolate.
Major attraction during the visit
Observe a demonstration by a master chocolatier who will be revealing a few of the secrets of traditional artisan chocolate making.
But chocolate is not only for eating, discover the chocolate-pots and antique cups, sculptures and even clothes made of chocolate!
All along the visit you'll be served samples of different types of chocolate, which you can then purchase at the museum shop.
